The Jail is under the leadership and direction of Sheriff Shane Russell, Chief Deputy Kevin "Bart" Simpson and Jail Administrator Edith Elliot. 

We have ten full-time staff members and four part-time employees. Our facility also has medical staff members that handle the medical needs of our inmates. 

The Sharp County Detention Center is located directly behind the Sharp County Courthouse on Arnhart Street. The physical address is 84 Arnhart Street, Ash Flat, AR 72513.

INMATES

Approximately 1100 inmates were processed through the Detention Center last year. Average daily population is about 72 inmates.

Visitation for inmates is available at the Sheriff's office lobby Monday-Friday, 8:00A.M. to 4:00P.M excluding holidays.  All inmates will receive 1 free kiosk visit per week. 


Visitors are reminded that while on premises, all persons and their vehicles are subject to search. Furnishing prohibited articles to inmates is a felony and will be aggressively prosecuted.

Inmates CURRENT prescription medication must be in ORIGINAL BOTTLE WITH DIRECTIONS.

Money for inmates commissary accounts must be in the form of cash, cashiers checks, or approved money orders. Funds are deposited in the inmate trust fund account and inmates will receive a check with their balance from this account upon release from incarceration.  

**Online options for inmates to purchase food, hygiene, and clothing are available through tigercommissary.com where you'll select the Sharp County Detention Center and select the inmate you'd like to purchase for or add money to. 

**For inmate phone/media accounts, the Sharp County Detention Center is now using NCIC Inmate Communications.  you may visit www.NCIC.com and set up an account in order for an inmate to make phone calls, video calls/visits, send messages, and watch movies. Visitation must be scheduled 24 hours in advance, and will only occur Monday-Friday during regular business hours.
