10/28/2024

On October 24th, 2024 Law Enforcement Officers from numerous agencies came together to perform a planned Law Enforcement Saturation in Sharp County that was planned and organized by the Sharp County Sheriff's Office.  The purpose of the operation was to target individuals that had active warrants for their arrest, to do compliance checks on individuals on probation and parole, compliance checks on registered sex offenders, traffic enforcement, and also to perform Community-Oriented Policing.

The saturation began early Thursday morning and continued until near midnight.  With 48 officers working in Sharp County, the saturation was a complete success.  Here is the number of contacts made.

Traffic Stops - 171
Arrests - 29 Felony

Home Visits (compliance check/probation checks) - 11
Still searching for several more with active warrants
Total Calls for service - 113

This saturation would not have been possible without the help of all the Law Enforcement Agencies that assisted, and I would like to personally thank all of them.

The agencies involved were: Ash Flat Police Department, Cave City Police Department, Evening Shade Police Department, Highland Police Department, Cherokee Village Police Department, Hardy Police Department, Izard County Sheriff's Office, Independence County Sheriff's Office, Arkansas State Police, 3rd Judicial Drug Task Force (TFO'S from Pocahontas Police Department, Randolph County Sheriff's Office, Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Newport Police Department, Sharp County Sheriff's Office), Arkansas Department of Community Corrections, and the U.S. Marshalls Fugitive Task Force.
