On the night of Thursday, December 2, 2021, the Sharp County Sheriff's Department received a report of a missing person, Jessica Langley-Chapman. Ms. Langley-Chapman's mother -Taunja Chapman- stated she had not heard from her daughter in over a year and was concerned about her welfare. Mrs. Chapman divulged her daughter had suffered a traumatic brain injury as a juvenile, making her more concerned for her safety. Within minutes after receiving the report, Ms. Langley-Chapman was entered into the National Crime Information Center Missing Person database and the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System. The Sharp County Sheriff Department tracked down Ms. Langley-Chapman's contacts and possible locations over the coming days. By Tuesday, December 7, 2021, the Sharp County Sheriff Department received word from an out-of-state jurisdiction; Ms. Langley-Chapman had been located and was alive. Family members of Ms. Langley-Chapman were notified of her whereabouts and our findings regarding her case.
