NEWS RELEASE

 

ON FEBRUARY 14, 2014 RAVENDEN POLICE OFFICER JOHN KEDING ATTEMPTED TOSTOP A RED FORD  F-150 ON HIGHWAY63 IN RAVENDEN AR FOR TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS.  THE TRUCK FLED HEADINGNORTH ON HIGHWAY63 INTOSHARPCOUNTY.ARKANSASSTATETROOPER FRED DAIL WAS TRAVELINGNORTH ON HIGHWAY63 CLOSE TO THECOUNTYLINE, WHEN THE TRUCK PASSED HIM ON A DOUBLE YELLOW LINE.  TROOPER DAIL ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE WHICH REFUSED TO STOP.  TROOPER DAIL PURSUED THE VEHCILE APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES BEFORE IT WAS STOPPED ON HIGHWAY 354 IN ASH FLAT BYCHEROKEEVILLAGEPOLICE CHIEF RICK CROOK. 

 

DURING THE PURSUIT, OFFICERS ATTEMPTED SEVERAL TIMES TO STOP THE VEHICLE, WHICH DROVE AT HIGH RATES OF SPEED, DRIVING IN BOTH LANES OF TRAFFIC AND RUNNING MOTORIST OFF THE ROADWAY. 

 

THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE CHRISTOPHER S. WOODSON AGE 40 OFIMBODEN,ARWAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AND TRANSPORTED TO THE SHARPCOUNTYSHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT. 

 

AT THE SHARPCOUNTYSHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT, SPECIAL AGENT WENDALL JINES WITH THEARKANSASSTATE POLICE ADVISED CHRISTOPHER S. WOODSON OF HIS MIRANDA RIGHTS FROM A STANDARD FORM.  CHRISTOPHER S. WOODSON STATED THAT HE UNDERSTOOD HIS RIGHTS AND SIGNED THE FORM AGREEING TO TALK TO OFFICERS.  CHRISTOPHER S. WOODSON ADMITTED TO SNORTING BATH SALTS AN HOUR BEFORE THE PURSUIT BEGAN AND TO SWALLOWING A ½ GRAM OF METHAMPHETAMINE AFTER THE FIRST OFFICER GOT BEHIND HIM.  CHRISTOPHER S. WOODSON ALSO STATED THAT HE HAD BEEN SNORTING BATH SALTS FOR THE PAST THREE DAYS.  SHERIFF COUNTS ASKED CHRISTOPHER S. WOODSON WHAT THE BATH SALTS DID TO HIM WHEN HE TOOK THEM.  CHRISTOPHER S. WOODSON STATED THAT HE HALLUCINATED AND HAD ERRATIC BEHAVIOR WHEN USING THE BATH SALTS.  CHRISTOPHER S. WOODSON STATED THAT THE BATH SALTS HAD RUINED HIS LIFE SINCE HE STARTED TAKING THEM.

 

CHRISTOPHER S. WOODSON IS CURRENTLY BEING HELD IN THE SHARPCOUNTYJAILPENDING THE FILING OF NUMEROUS FELONY CHARGES.
