Sharp County investigates shooting

On the evening of September 11th, 2010, Sharp County Deputies responded to 284 Stoney Point Rd. in Sharp County for a report of a shooting. When Deputies arrived they found 27 year old Joseph Harper suffering from a gunshot wound to the right arm. Deputies also found 30 year old Kevin Lee Dancer of Bono with head injuries. From accounts of witnesses and evidence at the scene. Mr. dancer and Mr. Harper were at the deer camp on Stoney Point Rd. and had an altercation. Mr. Dancer was struck on the head with a handgun during the altercation. Mr. dancer retrieved a second handgun and fired one shot at Mr. Harper as he was running away. Mr. Dancer was arrested at the scene and was taken to Fulton County Hospital to be treated for his head wounds. Mr. Harper was also transported to Fulton County Hospital and was treated for his injuries which were not life threatening. Mr. Harper later underwent surgery at St Bernards in Jonesboro to remove the bullet from his right arm. Mr. Dancer was booked into the Sharp County jail and charged with battery in the second degree. At the time of this release, Mr. Dancer's bond had not yet been set.
