Phone Scam ALERT |
| Recently, the Sharp County Sheriff's Department has had a rash of complaints stemming from collect phone calls coming from various correctional facilities through out the country. Victims are called from a correctional facility and asked if they will accept a collect call. If the victim accepts they may find substantial charges on their phone bill. It is beleived that inmates are using this system to do three way calling which ultimately charges someone else with the phone charges. Anyone receiving collect calls from any type of correctional facility or from someone they do not know should decline the call. |
