Suspects captured after fleeing from deputies

After fleeing from Sharp County Deputies as well as other officers, the suspects abandoned their 2001 dodge pick up truck in front of 540 Barnes road and then fled into the woods. On 04/28/2010, Deputies recieved a call from a citizen on Barnes road. they reported seeing two males come out of the woods near Wild Turkey trace. The witness reported that the men were very dirty and appeared to have been in the woods all night. The witness remembered seeing both subject in the dodge truck on Wild Turkey trace just before it sped away and crashed into the Sheriff's department vehicle. Deputy Mitchell responded to the area and eventually found and apprehended one of the subjects who was identified as Keith Alan Eaves age 22 of Belle Missouri. When Mr. Eaves was captured he yelled into the woods, "run Scotte, run". A short while later Deputy Mitchell apprehended the second subject who was identified as Gregory Scotte Bates age 42 of Alton, Missouri. Both Subjects were taken to the Sharp County Jail where they were interviewed by Investigator's from the Arkansas State Police and the Sharp County Sheriff's Department. Mr. Eaves admitted to being the driver when Deputy Milligan attempted to stop them. He also admitted that when he fled and the truck became stuck on some rocks, he switched places with Mr. Bates who then drove the truck away and ultimately crashed into two police units. Deputy Mitchell also arrested Joshi Thompson, a friend of Mr. Bates. Ms. Thompson was contacted by Mr. Bates as phone records indicated. Ms. Thompson was caught in the area of Barnes Road just before the two men were apprehended. When Questioned about the two men, Ms. Thompson lied to Deputy Mitchell and denied that she had been contacted by either man. Deputy Mitchell then called the number that the records showed was called by the two men and Ms. Thompson's phone began to ring in her hand. She then changed her story and admitted that they had called her to come to the area and pick them up. Ms. Thompson was charged by Deputy Mitchell with interfering with governemental operations. Based on the information gathered in this incident, Both Mr. Bates and Mr. Eaves were charged with Felony Fleeing and two counts of Aggravated Assault.
