On April 16th, 2010, the Arkansas State Police along with the Sharp County Sheriff's Department received a complaint from the owners of the Grape Vine store in Ash Flat. The complaint stemmed from continuous loss of revenue from the business. Video surveilance was set up at the store for a period of several weeks. The evidence was provided to law enforcement which showed store manager and long time employee, Michelle Sanders taking cash and merchandise. On April 19th, 2010, Special Agent Wendell Jines and Det. Sgt. Ken Guidry, confronted Ms. Sanders after setting up two sales earlier in the day. Ms. Sanders was taken to the Sharp County Sheriff's Department and interviewed. During this interview, Ms. Sanders admitted to taking $30,000 worth of cash and merchandise from the business over a two year period. Some of the cash and merchandise was recovered. Ms. Sanders was charged and released on her own recognizance on April 29th, 2010.
