Suspect flees after pursuit in Sharp County






On 04/27/2010, at 10:54pm Sharp county received a complaint of a reckless driver on Hwy 167 south of Ash Flat. Deputy Trent Milligan spotted the possible suspect vehicle a short time later and attempted to pull the vehicle over. The 2001 Dodge pick up truck began to flee from Deputy Milligan. The vehicle turned off the main road and continued to flee from the Deputy. During the pursuit. the Deptuy was forced to fire his weapon at the vehicle as is careened wildly through private property on Good Earth Pottery Road. An Ash Flat Officer Dan Fry, who was assisting the Deputy had his Police Unit hit by the fleeing vehicle. The pursuit continued as officers from Cave City, Ash Flat, Evening Shade and the Arkansas State Police continued to chased the Black Dodge truck through the county. The vehicle ended up off of Barnes Road where it struck Deputy Jeff adam's Police car , causing extensive damage and minor injuries to Deputy adam. The suspect's vehicle continued on and was found abandoned a short distance away. Tracking dogs and additional officers searched the area for the male suspect who was now on foot in the 500 block of Barnes Road. Investigator's are looking for an individual that has been tentatively identified by the vehicle's owner as well as additional evidence found at the scene. The name of the suspect is not being released at this time. The Sharp County Sheriff's Department is strongly urging the individual to turn himself in.
